Inspired by the Psalms

Today I wanted to share a beautiful setting of Psalm 91, recorded in this MP3.  The piece inspired me when I was writing Nazar's Journey.  I was attending Compline at St. Joseph's Cathedral, here in Columbus, when the words "He will conceal you in His wings" sung by the choir made a strong impression on my creative imagination.   

During Compline, the cathedral is lit with many candles but is otherwise dark, so it is an ideal setting for reflection.  The scene under the stars in my book emerged from this experience, when Nazar and Amira look up at the heavens. Amira recites to Nazar, in her native Sureth, these very words. 

Qais Al-Sindy, the artist, then used this scene from my book as the inspiration for his painting, which includes, towards the bottom of the work,  the words "He will conceal you with His wings" in Sureth calligraphy.
